Guest Comments and Ratings for Arenal Observatory Lodge

"the hotel was pristine and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job while we were there. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends." Guest stayed Mar 2011

"Arenal Observatory Lodge is an amazing experience. The volcano is right outside your window and you can sit on your balcony watching the volcano and see toucans and a variety of other birds as well as a friendly coatimundi walking by. Having a suspension bridge between the rooms and the restaurant added to the ambience. While being remote from some other activities, the lodge fulfilled our expectations about being close to the volcano. " Guest stayed Nov 2010

"Our favorite in the La Fortuna area, everyone with a car should stay here. Gorgeous grounds and super friendly staff that really cares about the Lodge and its guests. Will definitely stay here again and again." Guest stayed Dec 2010

"Just loved it! Recommend to people who can appreciate nature." Guest stayed Nov 2010

"The hotel exceeded expectations. Nothing fancy, but the grounds were much more than we expected." Guest stayed Jun 2011

"We loved this place and would love to stay again. The only downside it that it is a long and rough ride from town. If I went again, I would not plan to go back and forth everyday." Guest stayed Jan 2011

"The rooms are old and quaint, but the views and the grounds were magnificent. The staff and the cleanliness of the lodge were incredible. I loved having to go over the suspension bridge to go to our rooms. It fit the location and the setting." Guest stayed Apr 2011

"This hotel had the best restaurant that I have ever eaten at! My server, Michael was the friendliest person I met in Costa Rica. The views were excellent, the trails were excellent. Best hotel in the area easily." Guest stayed Aug 2011

"This is am amazing resort. I'd return again, although I would also rent a car next time as transportation to and from the resort is a bit expensive. The grounds are wonderful, both for the plant life and the birds. They offer excellent guided tours. Christian, one of the guides, took us on a morning bird walk, during which we saw Toucans and an amazing Hawk. Christian later sent me photographs of the hawk that he took through his spotting scope and one of those photos is now the background photo on my laptop. Food at the Lodge was excellent, rooms were great: the monkeys came right by our windows! I was a bit startled when the grounds keepers found two snakes in a drainage pipe by the swimming pool, but they dispatched them. I gather that the snakes were harmless. I never tired of looking up at the volcano." Guest stayed Jun 2011

"Love this place. Probably my favorite place to stay in the area." Guest stayed Aug 2011

"Great hotel in a great location. Staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable." Guest stayed Feb 2012

"So great..except the road to get there...wish that could get a little help but we loved everything else. The white water rafting trip was great, we went to a farm after - really enjoyed that trip." Guest stayed Dec 2011
