Chachagua Rain Forest Lodge

Chachagua Rain Forest Hotel is a wonderful base of operations for seeing the many fascinating attractions of the San Carlos region. The majestic Arenal Volcano is one of the 10 most active volcanoes in the world and the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge is a remarkable wet land great for fishing and bird watching. Lake Arenal has excellent windsurfing conditions and the Pena Blancas River is a fantastic place to white water raft. Don't forget to check out the therapeutic benefits of various hot springs in the area.

The privately owned and maintained rain forest of Chachagua is contiguous to the International Children&s Rain Forest, which in turn is neighbor to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Part of the hotel property is still maintained as a working ranch where we invite you to visit and take in the natural beauty of our new butterfly and orchid gardens. The on grounds restaurant was designed with a view of the riding ring where guests can watch expert horsemen working while sipping on fresh locally grown coffee.

The Chachagua Rain Forest Lodge offers comfortable and tastefully appointed suites with a private hot water shower, ceiling fan, and porch area for relaxing and nature viewing. Common species of animals that are residents of the forest at Chachagua that the interested observer will likely see are, White-Faced Monkeys, keel-Billed Toucans, Blue Morpho Butterflies, and bright red poison-dart frogs.
