Guest Comments and Ratings for Hotel La Pradera Arenal

"Our absolute favorite place to stay! When Royner told us the original reservation for our hotel could not be fulfilled and that we would have to have a substitute, we expected a downgrade. Instead, this wonderful garden-like setting with a perfect view to the Volcano and nice bungalow and fantastic restaurant gave us great joy. And we had the added benefit of being able to walk to La Fortuna - a little town we loved!" Guest stayed Mar 2011

"Highly recommend Hotel La Pradera. Grounds were beautiful and accommodations were great also. Staff was friendly and helpful." Guest stayed Feb 2011

"We were blown away when we saw how awesome the bungalow was. We loved that it felt like we were sleeping outside (because of the animal/bug sounds) but felt safe and sound inside of the room. I really hope we will be able to get back to there sooner rather than later!" Guest stayed Feb 2011

"Beautiful hotel, great breakfast and friendly staff. A wonderful value." Guest stayed Feb 2011

"the front door of the rooms opened to the volcano! Great hotel (like cabins)" Guest stayed Jun 2011

"This was the most resort type of hotel we stayed in compared to the other ones. It had the nicest amenities out of all the hotels, although we loved the off the beaten path hotels in the other cities. We wouldn't have changed any of the hotels but it was nice to end our trip in a very fancy and comfortable one. " Guest stayed Nov 2011

"Perfect for our needs. " Guest stayed Jul 2011

"I loved the hotel, a lot of flower , The volcano view excellent. you are relaxing in the jacuzzi with a wonderfull view of the volcano surrended by beautiful flowers The restaurant brakfast was good. I recomended, I want to go back again." Guest stayed Aug 2011

"Beautiful gardens that attracted lots of humming birds and butterflies. We loved having our own private cabana. It was a little crowded and it would be nice if they offered some with only one bed for couples. The bathroom was large and had nice tile and fixtures, but wasn't completely clean. I was also disappointed that the room did not have a safe, although they did have one available at the front desk. The veiw of the volcano from rocking chairs on the front porch was amazing. We liked the serenity of being outside of town, but the hotel was still close enough that we could walk into town or take a cheap taxi after dark." Guest stayed Oct 2011

"Me gusto mucho este hotel, el lugar donde esta, lo limpio y lo espacioso del cuarto y los jardines que rodean el hotel. Muy sabroso el desayuno. El volcan Arenal estaba al frente de nuestra cabina." Guest stayed Sep 2011

"Due to availability we spent one night in a superior Bungalow and two nights in a standard room. The superior bungalow was very nice, large, detached and set in lovely grounds with great views of the Volcano. It was well equipped with TV, A/C, Fridge, coffee maker and one double bed. As seems the norm in Costa Rica the room was very dark, even with the lights on! No hanging space in the room, only in the bathroom. The bathroom was again large and again dark, maybe the hideous maroon bathroom suite didnt help! it was very well equipped with towels and all the neccesary toiletries in dispensers. The standard room was perhaps slightly smaller and set in a terrace amongst lovely grounds, with good views of the volcano, still well equipped, as per the superior bungalow, only with two double beds. The main difference being it was a lot lighter, oh and a not quite so hideous green bathroom suite. We had a problem with our A/C unit which was repaired within 15 mins of us reporting it. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice, clean and set in lush surroundings. Pool towels were available from reception. We only ate breakfast and one lunch in the restaurant. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice plus freshly fried eggs or omelettes or both if you wished! Lunch was from a menu, mainly snack type foods, nacho's, sandwiches, etc" Guest stayed Mar 2012

"Again, our first time in the country, and it was very good that the front desk woman was able to speak English. We may have been lost otherwise, since we were still trying to pick up a few words. Great breakfast. And an AMAZING view from our room. Probably the best of the 4 places we stayed." Guest stayed Oct 2011

"La Pradera was beautiful! The grounds are wonderful and the view of Arenal was perfect!" Guest stayed Jan 2012

"Really excellent - loved the room, the pools, the food and the staff" Guest stayed Nov 2011

"This little place was THE BEST! Excellent location... close enough to La Fortuna, with an excellent view of the Volcano. Bungalows were private and romantic. Would be good for a family, or vacation for 2!" Guest stayed Nov 2011

"Amazing view, my boyfriend and I didn't want to leave!" Guest stayed Dec 2011

"The bungalow was a lovely surprise when we finally made it Arenal! It was cute and had a great view of the volcano. The walls are pretty thin, so if you are a light sleeper, the birds and bugs might keep you awake or wake you up in the night. I brought earplugs, which worked fine. We would definitely recommend this place to others and even stay here again if we return!" Guest stayed Jan 2012

"This was the best hotel we stayed at in terms of amenities and location. The complimentary breakfast, computer and hair dryer for guests were all advantages. Staff was the most helpful here with a list of tours in the area. This hotel exceeded my expectations and was very much worth the money." Guest stayed Jan 2012

"Overall, the hotel was fine. We do wish there was more lighting however. " Guest stayed Dec 2011

"This hotel was wonderful! What an awesome view of the volcano, and the landscaping was beautiful and well maintained. Everybody that worked at the hotel was awesome and helpful. The rooms were also very clean." Guest stayed Feb 2012
