Su viaje comienza con unos 30 minutos en vehiculo 4x4 dentro del bosque lluvioso a las afueras de la ciudad de La Fortuna, en las faldas del Volcán Arenal.
De la primera cascada nos lanzaremos en rapel desde lo alto del cañón, con vistas hermosas y bosque denso. Tenemos 5 rapeles, 4 de ellos se harán descendiendo al lado derecho de las cascadas que forma el riachuelo, y un último descenso en una roca seca. A continuación una corta caminata por el cañón por un camino mágico, hasta llegar nuevamente para tomar los vehículos 4x4 y dirigirnos hacia el Río Balsa para disfrutar de hasta 2 horas de estimulante acción del agua blanca en este hermoso río. Disfrute de un baño, algunas frutas tropicales frescas y una bebida fría seguida de un almuerzo típico. Un gran "combo" de adrenalina, diversión y aventura.

What to Bring
Ropa sintética de fácil secado, sandalias de amarrar, zapatos tenis o botas de montaña ligeras, cámara fotográfica o de vídeo (tenemos bolsas especiales para protegerlas) ropa extra, toalla protector solar.

"Wow, what a day! Just thinking about this day brings back vivid memories and makes me want to visit this beautiful country again! The day started off with us being picked up at our hotel. It was a little rainy but to me it added to the adventure. The first rappel was a little daunting as you looked down 200 feet, but I just threw caution to the wind and jumped off and had the time of my life. I was a little weak kneed when I finished the first rappel but by the third I felt like an old pro! After finishing we walked back up the rain forest and it was just gorgeous, hearing the rain hit the canopy and feeling the exhiliration of what my friends and I had experienced. As great as the rappelling was, the rafting was another notch up in the adrenaline rush. With the heavy rains Rio Balsa was probably a category 4 but with my main man Carlos leading the helm this first timer felt completely safe. I was laughing like a crazy man as we forged through the raging waters. I admit I got a little cocky in the middle and almost went in the drink. After that I respected the river that much more but I was still eager to hit the next rapids with gusto! I have to also give special note to the wonderful crew for taking care of my friend who slipped as she was boarding the raft at the beginning. She unfortunately sprained her wrist but the attentive crew went above and beyond in making sure she was properly taken care of. Can't say enough great things about them. Also, one of the rafts in our group flipped and a little boy was thrown in the rapids, but it was amazing to see the crew spring into action and get the boy back into another raft before he got by our group. It's part of the adventure and I had complete confidence that our guides were taking good care of us. In the end I got a few nicks and scratches, but that's what adventure is all about! To me their honor badges. The safety gear they provided came in handy and the day was one of the most memorable for me and my friends." Nov 2010
